I wasn't informed of any replies, oops! :)

Thank you VERY much for the search keywords, they turned up a few items but sadly nothing I was interested in - someone was selling a NeoGeo-converted cab for 4500 but no guarantee it worked and for the full cabs, like the one I want such as a 2p6b one, were going for 12000+ and that is just... whoa.. yeah, way too high. It looks like the best chance is to just purchase a bartop "flat pack" kit from the UK and have it shipped over for my own construction, wood kit is anywhere between £60 and £140 depending on options and delivery is around £20-25. Then simply do it piecemeal with buttons and my existing MAME kit.

As for where I am, wifey and I currently live in Telemark but we have family in Tønsberg too.Ethan Knighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14805957765091687815noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5061069475895052797.post-55874958363271152422013-09-11T08:52:55.416+02:002013-09-11T08:52:55.416+02:00Hi! I came across your Slowcade blog after (...Hi there! I came across your Slowcade blog after (quite unsuccessfully) searching around for places that sell cabinets in Norway. I'm an Englishman living in Norway with my Norwegian wife and I've been looking around for places, such as old bowling halls or people with lockups/storage centres, that were selling old cabinets.

The thing is, I don't know what to search for in Norwegian :D It was just blind luck that I stumbled on your post (and the amusing, and sad, adventure with your friend going to buy some cabs that had... depressingly.. been trashed) I'm not a collector, not looking for those good old 80s classics like Robotron, I'm just looking for a decent standup 2p/6b JAMMA cab for a MAME project, kinda like the wonderfully delicious old Electrocoin or VideoMaster machines with the concave buttons :D

Could you possibly tell me what kind of sites there are with information about this? Either Finn is completely empty of cabinets or I just don't know what "Arcade Cabinet" would be in Norwegian (such as Arcade Spill or Arcade Kabinett) --- thank you very much for your time :)Ethan Knighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14805957765091687815noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5061069475895052797.post-8546612516885368332013-03-17T16:22:11.776+01:002013-03-17T16:22:11.776+01:00Interesting! It is a bootleg and I've been looking for the bootleg-version for long - reason for this is, that the bootleg is said to have an extra board which emulates the PALs, and I needed that for MAMDEV to make Tutankham complete, because the MAME Tutankham is still missing the background stars !! I had the same aspirations to build pinball machines when I was a kid too.

Similar to your arrangement, I used plywood for the playfield, rubberbands wrapped around nails for bumpers, and heavy gauge wire was bent to form ball guide ways. The first incarnations of the machines used a mechanical linkage to work a pair of wooden flippers. Later versions used solenoids from old washing machines to drive the flippers. Not very durable but they functioned. Fun stuff!

Thanks for the excellent post!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5061069475895052797.post-57602054125533939592008-11-26T18:04:00.000+01:002008-11-26T18:04:00.000+01:00nice game machine...:Dnice game machine...:DAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5061069475895052797.post-19653617805716260292008-11-25T21:43:00.000+01:002008-11-25T21:43:00.000+01:00Ah, thanks for letting me know.
